About The Artist

Hi, my name is Jayla Bass, and I'm a mixed media figurative artist that's based in the Pacific Northwest. My work is rooted in storytelling through art, using different materials and techniques that push creative boundaries. Each piece is an emotional reflection of my journey, expressing healing, growth, and prosperity.

Born and raised in Central Florida, my passion for art began in my childhood by simply drawing cartoons and creating characters as a way to express myself. Though I didn't think I was going to continue with my art after middle school, when I got to high school, my art teacher changed everything by challenging me to draw my own face. That moment sparked my lifelong love for portraiture and exploring identity through art. It also allowed me to see my full potential and that I truly had a gift.

My creative journey hasn't always been consistent. Life's ups and downs sometimes pulled me away from art, but I always found my way back. Now, art is my healing space—a way to embrace my whole self and connect with others. Through my work, I aim to encourage others to love themselves fully, live boldly, and find beauty in both the light and the shadows.

Our Story: Charjay Art Productions
Charjay Art Productions was launched in February 2025—sparked by a dream and grounded in purpose. I'd always wanted to start my own art business but have often been discouraged. One day, I just went for it. After some research, I filed for my LLC and turned my occasional hobby into a committed path.

At the time, I wasn't creating regularly, even though I knew I had a gift. Launching this business became my motivation to show up, make art consistently, and take myself seriously as an artist and entrepreneur.

As an African American woman from a background of poverty who left home to pursue a dream, Charjay Art Productions is more than just a business—it's a symbol of freedom, resilience, and self-expression. It exists to serve others who are also chasing light, growth, and authenticity.

Through my site, you can shop for original artwork and high-quality prints, browse my portfolio, contact me for commissions, or sign up for exclusive updates, pop-up events, and blog posts that dive into my creative process.

Mission Statement
At Charjay Art Productions my mission is to empower people to love themselves, embrace growth, and look towards the Light. I just want to tell my story through my art to hopefully inspire and encourage others to live in their purpose through their destined assignments.
